Tour Itinerary

  • 01
    Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

    Upon arrival you will be picked up from Arusha Airport. You will be met and assisted by our staff that will answer all your queries and provide a short brief regarding your upcoming Safari. From there you will be transported to Masailand Safari Lodge for an overnight stay. Your meal plan will be on Half-Board.

    Day 2:Masailand Safari Lodge – Tarangire National Park

    After Breakfast, you will depart from the hotel at 06:00 am with your packed lunch and drive to Tarangire National Park. ▪ Tarangire National Park is approximately 120km from Arusha town, a maximum of 2- 3 hours’ drive to the park for a game drive. ▪ Tarangire National Park is 2850 sq. km in size and probably best known for its large numbers of elephants, and herds of Buffalos, Zebras, Wildebeest, Lions, Leopard, Warthog, Ostrich and numerous Bird species. ▪ The name of the park comes from the TARA, meaning river of NGIRI- which means Warthog. So Tarangire means “River of Warthogs” which crosses through the park. ▪ Surrounded by scattered Baobab trees also known as the tree of life for its almost mythical powers that some cultures attach to it. ▪ Tarangire is especially spectacular during the dry season (June – November) as wildlife concentrations rival that of the Serengeti (since enormous populations of Elephants and other animals are drawn to the Tarangire River as their only source of water). ▪ With its varied habitats and permanent water in the Tarangire River the park is home to over 2000 elephants and 500 Bird species.Later on in the evening you will drive back to Karatu for an overnight at Marera Valley Lodge, where your meal plan will be on Full board basis.

    Day 3 : Ngorongoro Crater

    After breakfast you will depart at 8:00 am with packed lunches then descend down to the Crater floor for a 5 -6 hours a Crater game drive. ▪ Ngorongoro Conservation Area is named one of the eighth natural wonders of the world “Heritage Site” due to the amusing of the crater. ▪ Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact crater in the world. ▪ About 2 million years ago the Ngorongoro volcano erupted, and its walls collapsed. The volcano floor sank to create a natural enclosure with its 600m tall walls. ▪ At over 19 kilometres wide, Ngorongoro Crater is filled with great areas of acacia forest, hippo filled swamps and open grasslands. These different habitats contain over 30,000 animals – including Elephants, Warthogs, Flamingos, magnificent Birdlife, the rare black Rhinoceros and all the predatory Cats. ▪ The Maasai can also be seen grazing their cattle alongside the Buffalo and Wildebeest.Later on, around 03:00pm you will be driven back to Arusha where you will be spending an overnight at Masailand Safari Lodge. Your meal plan will be on Half Board Basis.

    Day 4 : Relaxation Day

    The following day you will spend your day at Masailand Safari Lodge and you will take time to settle after a long trip from the previous day, your meal plan will be on a Half Board Basis. There will be a Buffet for dinner and other exceptional activities like swimming, gym etc.

    Day 5 : Maasai Market and Natural History Museum

    The next morning after breakfast you will be driven to Natural History Museum in Arusha. ▪ The museum is situated at the end of the Boma road neighboring the Arusha International Conference Centre and the Arusha City Council. Via Cultural Cafe is within the museum site. ▪ It is housed in the Old German Boma. The boma was founded during the German colonial era in Tanganyika around 1900, for administration and communication purposes. ▪ The Museum was opened to the public in 1987 with the exhibits depicting human evolution, including findings from the famous Olduvai Gorge and the Laetoli sites including the cast of early animals and hominids footprints. It keeps the largest permanent wildlife photography exhibition in the world, as well as an exhibition on entomology presenting some insects of economic importance. A mini botanical garden and a few live animals are also an attraction to visitors.After the visit at the museum, you will depart to the Maasai Market located at Arusha city Centre. The Maasai Market is a haven for lovers of street shopping, visitors are in for a treat with more than 100 stalls that sell everything from local arts, souvenirs to quirky jewelry. ▪ Later on, the day you will be driven back to Masailand Safari Lodge for an overnight where your meal plan will be on Half Board basis.

    Day 6 : Arusha Town tour and Cultural Heritage

    The next morning after breakfast you will be driven around Arusha for a city tour where you will get time to visit different places like Cultural heritage where you will find curio shops, jewelry boutique, tanzanite and precious stone counter, bargain center and outstanding commercial art gallery and spice shops. Later on, the day you will be driven back to Masailand Safari Lodge for an overnight where your meal plan will be on Half Board basis.

    Day 7 : Arusha to Zanzibar

    The next morning after breakfast you will depart from the Hotel and you will go straight to Zanzibar.Upon your arrival at Zanzibar Airport, you will be picked up from the Airport and driven to Kendwa Rocks Hotel, where you will have time to relax and spend an overnight. Your meal plan will be on all inclusive

    Day 8 : Prison Island

    After breakfast you will depart at 8:00 am and you will be driven to Prison Island. Once on Changuu Island (Prison Island), your guide will explain the colorful history of the area, including the prison building – which still stands. Today the island is home to some of Zanzibar’s oldest residents – descendants of the Aldabra giant tortoises that were a gift to the people of Zanzibar from the Seychelles government; some of them are rumored to have reached over a hundred years old. Look a little harder and you may also spot butterflies, bats and even the very shy duiker.The island is fringed with coral reefs and your guide will make sure you have snorkeling equipment so you can potter around in the shallows, marveling at the colorful marine life, or simply soak up the sun on the soft sands surrounding the island.Later on, the day you will exit the island and you will be driven back Kendwa Rocks Beach Hotel, where your accommodation will be on Full board basis.

    Day 9 : Relaxation

    The following day you will spend your day at Kendwa Rocks Beach Hotel and your meal plan will be on a Full Board Basis., where you will have time to relax at the beach, explore other facilities at the Hotel and spend an overnight.

    Day 10 : Dolphin Tour

    After breakfast early morning you will depart from the hotel to Kizimkazi village for Dolphin Tour. Should the weather not be good enough we shall inform you in the morning and postpone the tour either to the following day or on another day which will be suitable for you. ▪ The Dolphin tour takes place in the southernmost part of the island, precisely in the quaint Kizimkazi fishing village. Here many dolphins live happily in a natural setting, and so you will be able to see them in their best possible scenario. In fact, this is the perfect place for dolphin watching in Zanzibar and it is also well known all around the world. There are bottle-nosed dolphins and Humpback dolphins. The dolphins can easily be seen while you sail on the boat from the village. You may also indulge in swimming as well as snorkelling. ▪ Besides enjoying your time with the dolphins, this tour will also allow you to enjoy the Kizimkazi village itself. This is a very nice place which many tourists visit. Later on, the day you will exit from the Village and you will be driven back to Kendwa Rocks Beach Hotel, where your accommodation will be on Full board basis

    After breakfast you will be taken to the Airport (you will advise on the time) ready for your trip back home
